1. About shoobox

shoobox is an estate planning platform operated in partnership with DCM Lawyers (Melbourne). The platform allows Australian families to prepare Wills, Powers of Attorney, and Advance Care Directives online. All documents are reviewed, finalised, and executed by qualified lawyers at DCM Lawyers.

2. Not legal advice

shoobox collects your information and prepares draft documents for lawyer review. The platform does not provide legal advice. Your documents are not legally valid until reviewed, signed in the presence of qualified witnesses, and executed by DCM Lawyers. If you have specific legal questions, please contact DCM Lawyers directly.

3. Your data

You retain ownership of all personal information you provide. We store your data securely in Australia using Supabase (Postgres). Your data is shared with DCM Lawyers solely for the purpose of preparing and executing your estate planning documents. We do not sell your data to third parties.

4. Account responsibility

You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials. You must be at least 18 years of age and have legal capacity to create a Will under Australian law.

5. Limitation of liability

shoobox and DCM Lawyers are not liable for any loss arising from the use of draft documents prior to formal execution, or from information entered incorrectly by the user. The platform is provided as-is, and we make no warranties regarding uninterrupted service.

6. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Victoria, Australia. Any disputes are subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of Victorian courts.
